"Maria Scianna" is a name inscribed on a tombstone that covers the skeletal remains of a four-legged animal. Although not identified on screen, both The Omen screenplay and the novelization describe the remains as the "decayed carcass of a JACKAL."

Inscribed below the name is "OBIT VI VI MCM LXX" where "obit" is Latin for "death," combined with the Roman numerals, translates to "death 6 6 1970" or "Died June 6, 1970."
