Rome is a city and special comune in Italy. Rome is the capital of Italy and the capital of Lazio. With 2.8 million residents in 1,285.3 km2 (496.3 sq mi), it is also the country's largest and most populated comune and fourth-most populous city in the European Union by population within city limits.

Between 3.2 and 3.8 million people live in the Rome urban and metropolitan area. The city is located in the central-western portion of the Italian Peninsula, on the Tiber River within the Lazio region of Italy. Rome is referred to as "The Eternal City", a notion expressed by ancient Roman poets and writers.

The Omen[]

Robert Thorn is stationed in Rome with his wife Katherine when the latter goes into labor at a hospital early in the morning of 6 June. When the Antichrist, Damien, is born of a jackal at the hospital at 6 AM on the same morning, secret Satanists located at the hospital murder the Thorns' baby.

One of the Satanists, Father Spiletto (to try and ensure Damien's biblical rise to power), convinces Robert to have the deceased Thorn child secretly switched with Damien, and Robert agrees. In the same year, the hospital burns down and is rebuilt at some later point.

The Treaty of Rome is one of the signs that indicates the Antichrist's rise as stated in a Biblical poem from Father Brennan.

When Damien is two years old, the Thorns move from Rome to London when Robert is appointed US Ambassador to England. Another three years later, Robert returns to Rome with Keith Jennings to investigate Damien's origins. Robert and Jennings leave for Subiaco after discovering from a nun in Rome that Spiletto is in the former location.

Damien - Omen II[]

Dr. Charles Warren claims that the Whore of Babylon mentioned in the Holy Bible represents Rome.

Omen IV: The Awakening[]

As Karen York and Father James Mattson discover from the Bible, the Book of Revelation predicts that the Antichrist will come from 'the fourth kingdom' (which is thought to mean Rome). Gene later suggests that the Yorks move to Rome, and Karen realizes that doing so will fulfill the prophecy of the Antichrist coming from Rome.
