The First Omen is a prequel to The Omen written and directed by Arkasha Stevenson, released on April 5, 2024. It will debut on digital retailer platforms on May 28 and then on Hulu May 30. Blu-ray and DVD July 30.
20th Century Studios released the official logline and "first look" image on November 16, 2023 followed by a teaser trailer on January 2, 2024 and first official trailer on January 3, 2023. The logline reads:
- When a young American woman is sent to Rome to begin a life of service to the church, she encounters a darkness that causes her to question her own faith and uncovers a terrifying conspiracy that hopes to bring about the birth of evil incarnate.
- “The First Omen” stars Nell Tiger Free (“Servant”), Tawfeek Barhom (“Mary Magdalene”), Sonia Braga (“Kiss of the Spider Woman”), Ralph Ineson (“The Northman”), and Bill Nighy (“Living”). The film is directed by Arkasha Stevenson, based on characters created by David Seltzer (“The Omen”), with a story by Ben Jacoby (“Bleed”) and a screenplay by Tim Smith & Arkasha Stevenson and Keith Thomas (“Firestarter”).[1]
Filming took place in late 2022.[2]
